The synopsis

Probably one of the most experienced wind bands in Britain - arguably in the world - this album of fresh recordings presents the accumulation of over 1,500 years of combined military band expertise. The recordings are deliberately Royal Marine and emphasise many of the traditional, all-time favourites of concert goers and record collectors. Once A Marine .... is the band's first CD and the title track has been specially composed and dedicated to the band by former Royal Marines director of music Ray Woodfield. The tracks are:

1. A Life On The Ocean Wave - Russell arr Alford
2. Plymouth Hoe - Ansell
3. The Captain General - Dunn
4. The Padstow Lifeboat - Arnold
5. Peter Rabbit and Tales of Beatrix Potter - Lanchbery arr Siebert
6. HM Jollies - Alford
7. Adagio for Trumpet - Yates
Soloist: Jon Yates
8. Cockleshell Heroes - Dunn arr Duthoit
9. Slaughter on 10th Avenue - Rodgers
10. On the Quarter Deck - Alford
11. The Shanghai Sailor - Bridger
                   Piccolo: Steve Tanner
12. Sarie Marais - Toonsetting arr Dunn
13. Kalinka - arr Woodfield
14. Comrades In Arms - Whealing
15. The Hounds Of Spring - Reed
16. Once A Marine .... - Woodfield
